Domestic Violence Suspect Arrested With Medieval Weapon After Slashing Woman’s Face Per Washoe Sheriff: “Shortly before 6:00 pm on December 16th, deputies responded to a call from an area hospital regarding a domestic battery involving a deadly weapon. Upon arrival, deputies met with the victim who had a laceration on her face which the victim stated was from a knife. After interviewing the victim, deputies garnered the necessary information to locate the suspect. Deputies began canvassing the area around the parties’ shared residence and ultimately located a man matching the suspect’s description. When deputies initially hailed the subject, he failed to comply with their requests to stop. Deputies activated their overhead lights and gave verbal commands. Ultimately, the subject stopped and tossed a knife to the ground. Once in custody, the subject was found to be in possession of a “morning star,” concealed upon his person. The man also admitted to having cut the victim’s face. As a result of the investigation and interviews, Jacob Beam was charged with domestic battery with a deadly weapon and concealing and possessing a dangerous weapon. The Washoe County Sheriff’s Office would like to commend our deputies for their thorough investigation of this incident and subsequent leg work to locate the suspect.
