Las Vegas Police Officer Killed in Shootout An officer of North Las Vegas PD was killed after being shot at about 2:15 p.m., while responding to a report of a person pointing a gun at another person near Camino Al Norte and Lone Mountain Road. When officers contacted him he refused to comply and began firing. Both the gunman and the officer were shot, the officer was hit multiple times. Both the officer and the gunman were taken to UMC Trauma, where both were pronounced dead. “It is with heavy hearts that we mourn the passing of one of North Las Vegas’ finest,” the Chief of Police, Jacqueline Gravatt, stated in a press release.
