Killer Pleads Guilty in Bar Murder
Per Sparks PD:
“On July 15, 2022, Sparks Police officers responded to a bar in the 1800 block of Prater Way on the report of a shooting. Upon arrival, officers located the victim suffering from a gunshot wound to the head. The victim later succumbed to their injuries.
Francisco Contreras was identified as the suspect involved.
Several hours after the shooting, Contreras turned himself into the Sparks Police Department.
This week, Contreras pled guilty to First Degree Murder with the Use of a Deadly Weapon. Contreras was sentenced to life in prison and another 4-20 years to run consecutive for a Deadly Weapon Enhancement.
This conviction was made possible by the tireless efforts made by investigators and the Washoe County District Attorney’s Office.
Sparks Police is dedicated to finding justice for all of our victims and will continue to investigate crimes to the fullest extent possible.” #sparks #nevada
