U.S. Marshals Arrest Fugitive in Reno Wanted in Mexico for Child Abuse

BREAKING: The U.S. Marshals Service and I.C.E. have apprehended a fugitive in Reno who is wanted in Mexico for sexual abuse of a minor.
Jairo Paredes-Cota, 41, is wanted on a warrant issued by Mexico on May 1, 2020, for the sexual abuse of a minor, as a teacher at an Indigenous Community University in Sinaloa. Mexican authorities requested the assistance from the Marshals on February 28th. He was taken into custody on East Plumb Lane. Paredes had already been deported previously from the United States and was in violation of U.S. immigration laws and was also wanted by I.C.E.
The arrest also involved the Nevada Violent Offender Task Force made up of of local sheriff and police departments, as well as federal agencies such as the ATF and DEA. 📸 US Marshals #reno #nevada #mexico #deportation #immigration
