On the afternoon of April 16, 2025, a small aircraft departing Stead, NV, experienced catastrophic engine failure over Hallelujah Junction. The pilot glided safely and landed on Scott Road, using a dirt surface as an emergency runway.
A nearby CHP officer quickly responded and assisted by helping move the aircraft safely off the roadway.
