DAZED AND CLOSER: Cannabis Lounge Closes in Just One Year Nevada’s very first cannabis consumption lounge has already closed its doors a little more than a year after opening on the Vegas Strip. Thrive Cannabis Marketplace’s Smoke and Mirrors consumption lounge opened in February 2024. Dazed inside of Planet 13’s store is now the only state-sanctioned venue for marijuana consumption in Nevada left standing. While 21 additional consumption lounges have been approved throughout the state, none of them have opened. Buisness insiders cite the state’s regulations as being a major contributor to the lack of commercial success. The only other legal lounge in the state in Thrive, which exists on Paiute tribal land and is therefore not subject to the extra regulations. Things are looking the opposite of high for the future of the industry at this point. #nevada #420
