RPD Seeks Help in Identifying Suspect in Fatal Shooting

The Reno Police Department (RPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual connected to a shooting incident that occurred in January
The person of interest was observed wearing a dark colored jacket. On January 20th, RPD responded to a shooting at a 7-11 store located near the 3000 block of South Virginia Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with a gunshot wound who was later pronounced dead at Renown Regional Medical Center.
The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Justin Murphy from Sun Valley by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. The Robbery/Homicide Unit is currently investigating the case, and there is no immediate threat to the general public as it appears to be an altercation between two parties.
Secret Witness has announced a $5,000 reward for any information that could lead to the apprehension and prosecution of the suspect.
