The Reno Police Department (RPD) is seeking the public’s assistance in identifying an individual connected to a shooting incident that occurred in January The person of interest was observed wearing a dark colored jacket. On January 20th, RPD responded to a shooting at a 7-11 store located near the 3000 block of South Virginia Street. Upon arrival, officers discovered a man with a gunshot wound who was later pronounced dead at Renown Regional Medical Center. The victim has been identified as 39-year-old Justin Murphy from Sun Valley by the Washoe County Regional Medical Examiner’s Office. The Robbery/Homicide Unit is currently investigating the case, and there is no immediate threat to the general public as it appears to be an altercation between two parties.
