Sparks Hero Recognized at City Hall π
βToday, at the Sparks City Council Meeting, Sparks Fire Department presented Justin Dormody with the Citizen Service Metal for his actions on a gasoline tanker truck fire last November.
After a vehicle collided with a large tanker truck, Justin Dormody, who was working nearby, noticed that the vehicle was on fire and there was someone in the front seat. Justin went to the vehicle, broke out the side window and helped the driver out of the burning vehicle before vehicle became fully involved and truck caught on fire. This all happened before Sparks Firefighters arrived on scene. Crews on scene had no idea this occurred because Justin only made himself known after then incident when he asked Captain Matt Caldwell if they could find the screwdriver he dropped after breaking the window with it.
We Thank Justin and commend him on his actions and bravery that led to saving another persons life!! β
