The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is currently investigating a potential sex trafficking operation that is believed to be taking place in the Carson City area The investigation was prompted by information received on February 10, which indicated the presence of a sex trafficking operation that had recently arrived from California. It was reported that nine individuals, including three heavily armed males, were involved in the operation. The FBI’s Human Exploitation and Trafficking (HEAT) Task Force was immediately engaged to provide assistance. Search warrants were obtained for multiple rooms and a vehicle at the America’s Best Value Inn on South Carson Street. The warrants were executed by a combination of SWAT, Special Enforcement, and FBI task force members at around 12:20 p.m. Four males and five females were taken into custody. The search is still ongoing, but weapons and controlled substances have already been confiscated. The Sheriff’s Office collaborated with local expert supportive services, including Sexual Assault Advocates and Exquisite, who provided invaluable support throughout the operation. #carsoncity #nevada #775
