Deobra Redden, the man who attacked a Nevada judge during a sentencing hearing last month, has been indicted for attempted murder
A grand jury returned a nine-count indictment against Redden, with his arraignment scheduled for February 29. The incident, which was captured on courtroom video and went viral, showed Redden lunging over the bench at Judge Mary Kay Holthus.
The new indictment alleges that Redden attacked Holthus by grabbing her, pulling her hair, placing his hands around her throat, and hitting her on the head. He is also accused of assaulting a police officer.
Redden has been diagnosed with schizophrenia and bipolar disorder, but was found competent to stand trial.
