Meet the Candidates: Mark Lawson
We will be interviewing candidates running for office in the upcoming election so citizens can be more informed. Mark Lawson is running for Washoe County Commission, District 4, covering Sparks, Spanish Springs, and the northeastern parts of the county. Mark Lawson is a former police officer and firefighter. This is his 1st take and running for office. He’s running against Clara Andriola who was appointed by a few political insiders, and was not elected by the people. Andriola also had ethics violations complaints filed against her for allegedly using casino resources for a campaign headquarters location that also had a ballot drop box location at her headquarters. She also received money or in-kind contributions from a billboard company after she voted to allow huge billboard to stay on Cares Campus property.
We sat down with Lawson to discuss a few topics.
Topic 1: Thanks for taking the time for us. Tell me a story about you that helped make you the person you are today.
Topic 2: You’ve never held office before, what makes you different from the incumbent, and what are the top 5 things you would do if elected?
Topic 3: How do we know you’ll keep your word and do what you say? Convince us to vote for you.
