SENIOR TAGGIING đ«
Per Washoe Sheriff:
âThe Washoe County Sheriffâs Office is issuing a public safety advisory to raise awareness about the viral game âSenior Assassin,â which has gained nationwide popularity.
In this game, typically played by high school students, participants are assigned another playerâs name and tasked with hunting and âtaggingâ them to eliminate them from the game. The goal is to be the last remaining player. Tagging is typically done using water guns or water projectiles, and certain areas such as school zones, workplaces, places of worship, and organized sports are considered off-limits according to the gameâs rules.
Aside from designated off-limit areas, player eliminations can occur anywhere within a community. Reports indicate the game has been played in various locations, including roadways, neighborhoods, parks, stores, and restaurants. However, rules may vary among different groups.
While intended as a harmless and enjoyable activity, recent incidents nationwide have prompted concerns regarding the safety of both participants and the public. Although the actions involved in the game may not constitute criminal behavior, the use or display of firearms, whether real or fake, in public areas may give rise to situations perceived as genuine threats to public safety.
Therefore, the Washoe County Sheriffâs Office strongly urges parents and adults to take note of this game and discuss its potential seriousness and associated hazards with their children.â
