Current Situation in Southern Nevada Due to Hurricane Hilary Remnants ๐ŸŒŠ Per Clark County: โ€œThe worst damage heโ€™s seen in his 15 years working on Mt. Charleston. Those words from Mt. Charleston Fire Protection District Chief George Gonzalez today as crews assess the widespread flooding caused by rains from #Hilary. Mt. Charleston got the worst of it in Southern Nevada as a result of this storm, Mt. Charleston got 7 inches of rain, Kyle Canyon got 8. The bad weather may not be finished yet - a #FlashFlood warning remains in effect. Once the weather clears up, there is a lot of cleanup ahead. Right now, essential vehicles and personnel the only ones being allowed through to respond to flood issues on the mountain. The old town area in Mt. Charleston has substantial flooding as does the Rainbow subdivision. Residents are sheltering in place. A boil water order has been issued. We got some amazing and sad images from the Fire Protection District showing the extent of the damage. Thank you to all the first responders and law enforcement working long hours to respond to this situation. โ€”โ€” Clark County Fire Department LVMPD Nevada State Police NV Energy Las Vegas Valley Water District Southern Nevada Water Authority Humboldt-Toiyabe National Forest U.S. Forest Service Nevada National Guardโ€ #nevada #tropicalstormhilary #hurricanehilary
