Shooting Injures Juvenile Per Carson Sheriff: “The Carson City Sheriff’s Office is investigating a shooting that took place at 11:50 p.m. on July 4th. One male juvenile was reported injured at the scene with a gunshot wound to the leg. Investigators remained at the scene throughout the night retrieving evidence and interviewing witnesses. According to information gathered, several juveniles were engaged in a physical altercation in a parking lot at the apartments located at 20 College Parkway. The altercation appears to have moved into the common areas of the apartments and resulted in one male discharging several rounds from a small caliber handgun. As Deputies were arriving at the scene, they observed many juveniles running from the area in all directions. The victim of this incident received a minor gunshot wound to the leg. He was treated at the scene by Fire/Paramedics and transported to an area hospital. Bullet projectiles were recovered from the area apartments, including one that passed through the bedroom of innocent residents. Investigators continue to actively identify everyone that was involved in the incident and positively identify the suspect.
