40 Shots Fired in Sparks Shootout A suspect has been arrested for the brazen shootout that injured two in Sparks on Thursday night, the 4th of July, at the Sparks Sunrise Apartments at 2555 G. St around 11pm. Sparks PD announced George Garcia, 20 years old, was arrested on Friday on multiple felony counts including battery with a deadly weapon, assault with a deadly weapon, and firing a gun into a structure or vehicle. Police say the individuals involved in the shootout, were a 27-year-old Sparks man and his brother, whose age hasn’t been released. Sparks PD says Garcia had a rifle and the two other shooters had handguns. One of the brothers was treated at the hospital and released. police said, but Garcia was arrested while at the hospital also being treated for a gunshot wound.
