#DavisFire Update - Mt Rose Highway 431 is now open to Thomas Creek. Evacuations for neighborhoods east of Thomas Creek Road have been downgraded to Evacuation Warning. While residents may return to those areas, you are urged to exercise abundant caution. There are a large number of emergency response vehicles moving throughout the area.
An Evacuation Order is still in place for those areas West of Thomas Creek Road. You may not return to these areas. We have several patrol units in the evacuated neighborhoods who are looking over people’s homes and keeping the area secure. Your safety is our priority.
We would like to thank the Nevada State Police, Nevada Department of Transportation, and the National Guard for their tremendous support and efforts with road closures and evacuated areas.
The Truckee Meadows Fire Protection District, National Forest Service, and Reno Fire Department, along with all of the other wildland firefighters are working around the clock, battling this fire at great risk to their personal safety. We offer our utmost and sincere thanks to them.
