“As summer comes to a close, we are offering a final opportunity for residents to safely dispose of green waste through the Reno Home Wildfire Fuels Reduction Dumpster Program!
This vital initiative is part of the city’s ongoing efforts to reduce wildfire risk by encouraging residents to increase their home’s defensible space.
From Friday, September 27th through Sunday, September 29th, three dumpsters will be available for unbagged green waste disposal in the parking lot behind Station 3, located at 580 W Moana Ln.
This is an excellent chance for homeowners to clear away dry brush, branches, and other vegetation that could pose potential fire hazards as wildfire season continues!
This program is generously funded through a State Farm grant and run in partnership with Waste Management. Thanks to this support, we are excited to announce that next year, we will be expanding the program’s boundaries to better serve the community and ensure more neighborhoods have access to critical wildfire mitigation resources.
Acceptable Materials: Unbagged green waste only (e.g., leaves, branches, and other vegetation)
Unacceptable Materials: Construction materials, paint, hazardous waste, appliances, etc.
Residents are reminded that wildfire season is not over, and creating defensible space around homes is a critical step in protecting property and the community. This event offers an easy and free way to contribute to fire safety while keeping yards clean and green.

Let’s work together to keep Reno safe this wildfire season!” #reno #nevada #wildfire
