Concerns Loom Over $30 Million Voting System Before Election According to statements made recent interim Washoe County Voter Registrar,Cari-Ann Burgess that were published by ProPublicq, “Burgess said she has no direct knowledge of what her office has done since her last day at work on Sept. 25, but believed the issues were so daunting, they likely couldn’t be fixed by the county’s understaffed registrar’s office before early voting began on Oct. 19” and that “she believes the shortcomings have not been fully addressed.” Burgess, has reportedly been on administrative leave since September “facing charges of insubordination and poor job performance.” According to the article Burgess said she plans to file a whistleblower complaint soon asking for federal oversight of Nevada’s future elections. That $30 million Voter Registration and Election Management Solution voter system apparently showed significant problems in transferring data accurately after practice runs in recent months. Some of those problems include assigning voters to the wrong precincts and mislabeling voters as “inactive.” But, State officials are saying those issue have been addressed and that they expect Tuesday’s vote to be just fine. “This is a project that we cannot get wrong,” Aguilar’s deputy in charge of elections told lawmakers in early 2024. “It has to be done right the first time.”The test runs in June identified 20 problems. Robert Beadles, an active Nevada elections watch dog, took to Twitter to state, “My team and I have provided over 50,000 names of voters who should be removed from the rolls, and yet most are still there. Will these ‘addresses’ receive ballots as well? At best, these officials are completely incompetent. Nowhere in the private sector would this be allowed. Will anyone hold these people accountable?
