Beware of Phone Scams Impersonating Sheriff's Office: It's Not Legit!

SCAM LIKELY 📱
Per WCSO:
Does it look like the Sheriff’s Office is calling? We aren’t. No, you did not miss jury duty. No, there is NOT a warrant for your arrest. IT IS ALL A SCAM.
No matter what your caller ID says, the Sheriff’s Office will NOT call you seeking money. Scammers will use the real names of people who work here and set up fake voicemail accounts. It does not matter who they say they are, it is a scam.
Telephone scammers can mimic the Sheriff’s Office phone number, creating a very convincing presence. If you receive a call demanding that you make a payment, or come to the office to remit a payment, or that you are delinquent on a payment - HANG UP immediately. It is not legitimate. We do NOT call.
